This piece shows a melody in the high voice, filling notes are quarter notes. When the theme is finished, it starts again, but the accompaniment turns to eighth notes, which leads to a much faster and more virtuos character. The first part is quiet easy to play, whereas the second part turned out to be quiet difficult, much more than I had thought. The time signature I chose is alla breve - to point out the fluid tempo I had in my mind. Have fun listening and/or even playing!
I often write new pieces on Sunday mornings, there could be several pieces titled like this..."Sunday Morning 1", "Sunday Morning 2" and so on... - but as I had never used the title I gave it to this little composition ;-)
When I was much younger I did not like Sunday Mornings, they had given me a feeling of standing still, tightness and seriousness. In the meantime, when growing older, I love them!
I hope you like it!
Yours, Angela
